New Tutorial Element 3D Transitions

A tutorial for creating transitions with Element 3D in After Effects.  The effect is based on a tutorial that Greyscalegorilla did for creating the Discovery Channel transition effect with Cinema 4D and After Effects.  This tutorial uses Element 3D instead of Cinema 4D.

E3D Transitions

  1. Thanks for the tutorial Transitions with Element 3D. In the very beginning of the tut during your intro it looks like you used a different technique using E3D. Did you create this transition by setting a layer as a custom texture and then selected that custom layer in E3D as a diffuse texture? If not how did you achieve this effect? I’m trying to achieve a similar affect. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Roderick

Hi, thanks for watching the tutorial. I’m not sure I understand your question, the only texture applied to the cubes is just the colour black on one side and white on the other. then a curves adjustment on the Element layer to crush the blacks and whites. Hope this helps.
